He’s free!! So happy today as Anthony was released from the hospital. He just has to resume one of his medicines for his stomach, a cream for his rear end, and a cream for his excema.
He is doing fine and has resumed normal feeding. I am sure he is ready for a good bath too!
I thank god that this ordeal is finally past us. I am sure there will be more ups and downs but after the first seven months we finally have our so home and he feels whole again.
Thank you Lord for this journey and for watching over our little boy.

Anthony is making progress. Throughout the day he had two doses of morphine and seems to be more tolerant of pain. They removed the epidural and catherder. The tube in his nose remained in until the afternoon. The team wants to monitor his output and see how he tolerates not having suction. He is still a bit congested bit otherwise doing good. This is the first time I have seen him smile. I felt bad that he missed Easter but I am looking forward to celebrating many more holidays to come now that this procedure is done.

Still recovering. Anthony is doing okay. He is still on the meds for pain and itchiness. He is having a lot of output from his stomach. No poop yet as we are on poopy watch 2012. As soon as he poops they can take out the tubes and start feeding. We have to keep his hands covered as the itching has caused him to rub his eyes alot and they have become irritated.

Anthony’s surgery went well. He is in recovery with a tube down to his stomach to help with drainage. He also has a epidural catheter to help control pain. The catheter will help keep the pain medicine central to the location of the surgery. Side effects from this medicine is itchiness. They counter this with a dose of narcan. We have grandma lulu and nonie in the waiting room. Uncle Joe and Gabriel are here as well.

It’s surgery day! We arrived at Children’s Hospital at 5:30am for check-in. Anthony was in good spirits and we waited for a bit while the doctors checked him out. They also explained the procedures and risks. It was hard to let my son go again. He needs this surgery so he can start growing and moving on with his life. Looking forward to seeing him without a colostomy bag and free. I kind of feel like he is my Pinocchio and I just want a real boy. Love you Anthony, hope to have you in my arms again.
